Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Dr. Tamara Trofimova is an ecologist with a broad academic training in polar and marine sciences. She specialises on the development and application of sclerochronological records in studies of past marine climate and environment.
Before joining the team, Tamara has been working with early and late Holocene bivalve sclerochornological records from the North Sea. She has also been involved in research using growth records from red coralline algae as a proxy for past sea-ice variability in the Svalbard region.
In SEACHANGE, Tamara is responsible for the construction and analysis of bivalve sclerochronological records, including laboratory processing and geochemical sampling of shell material. She is a part of Sclerochronology group at the University of Exeter and primarily involved in the work within the WP 4.
